As a Senior Research Analyst for IDC Insights Europe, Julia Neuschmid contributes to the IDC Government Insights analysis within Europe, with special focus on Smart Cities. She conducts primary and secondary research with both IT vendors and end users on technology innovations to support sustainable development, improve resilience, meet citizen’s expectations, and attract investment, new businesses, and talent in European cities. Julia joined IDC in 2015 as a senior research analyst, where she was responsible for the analysis of trends and developments in the Austrian IT services market.
Prior to that, she has worked for several years for applied research organizations on research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission and the Austrian Government. She gained experience on urban technologies, planning information systems, and open data, which she leverages for her activities with IDC.
Julia is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, and has a Master’s Degree in Geography with a specialization in Spatial Research and Spatial Planning from the University of Vienna.
